Who runs this site
The controller for this website is Cristiano Maiello. For information, personal data requests or complaints, email cristianomaiello@gmail.com.
Data and purposes
The site publishes writing, photography and music. It does not require an account and has no subscription or newsletter forms. The hosting service may process technical request data, such as IP address, date and time, requested page and browser information, to deliver pages, handle errors and protect the service.
If you send an email, your address, any name you provide and the correspondence are processed to read and handle your enquiry. Providing this information is optional; without contact details it may not be possible to reply.
Lawful basis
Operating and securing the site and responding to enquiries rely on the legitimate interest in maintaining a functioning editorial website and communicating with people who contact it. Where information must be kept to meet a legal obligation, that obligation is the basis for doing so. No automated decisions about individuals or advertising profiling are carried out.
Cookies and external services
Google Analytics 4 measures visits and interactions only if you choose “Accept analytics”. Before consent or if you refuse, the Google Analytics tag is blocked. We do not use advertising personalisation or Google Signals. Analytics may set first-party _ga and _ga_M5B48BYMDF cookies, normally lasting up to two years, to distinguish visitors and sessions. The consent choice is stored locally for six months. You can refuse or withdraw consent at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer; withdrawal stops future collection and removes this site's Analytics cookies. Consent is the legal basis for this optional analysis.
Google processes technical and interaction data for these statistics. URL query parameters are omitted from the initial page address sent by this site. Data may be processed outside the UK and EEA under Google's applicable transfer safeguards. See Google's privacy policy for details. SoundCloud and other external links are subject to their providers' policies.
Providers and transfers
Pages are hosted by Netlify. Correspondence is handled through Gmail. These providers may process data in the countries where they operate, including outside the UK and European Economic Area. Their notices describe processing and international transfer safeguards: Netlify and Google. You can contact the address above for further information.
Retention
Correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to handle the enquiry and any follow-up; a longer period may be needed for legal obligations or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Necessity is assessed according to the content, purpose and any ongoing relationship. Technical hosting data is managed under the provider’s retention policies. No subscriber database is created and contact details are not used to send newsletters.
Your rights
Where applicable, you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email cristianomaiello@gmail.com to exercise your rights. Requests are normally handled within one month, subject to extensions permitted by law. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) or the relevant supervisory authority in your country.
Updates
This notice is updated when the services or processing arrangements change. The date above indicates the latest revision.
